The leader of a Champaign homeless advocate group says she's still in need of volunteers for a survey to be conducted around the city next week.
Project Coordinator for C-U At Home [2] Melany Jackson says her group has about 25 volunteers for the survey, which will identify the most at-risk homeless people in Champaign and Urbana.
She says the group needs about 50 more volunteers to be able to conduct the survey effectively.

- Melany Jackson talks about the homeless advocate group she started.
Jackson says although her organization plans to help as many homeless people as possible, the priority is for those who are most in need.
She says the ultimate goal of the project is to get homeless people into their own housing, not just a temporary shelter, and to teach them how to take care of themselves.
If you want to volunteer or make a monetary donation you can call C-U At Home at 819-4569.
The survey will run Monday through Wednesday of next week.
