This week, NCAA Football 2012 thought the Illinois would continue their offensive slumps. At the same time, they thought Michigan would run all over the Illini defense. This simulation wasn't pretty.
I ended up using Mike Shaw as the Michigan running back in this one. He was the highest rated RB Michigan has in this game and that's why I chose him. The game doesn't do much in the way of substituting, so he got a bulk of the carries for the Wolverines, even though he hasn't really gotten too many this season. Let's take a look at the numbers.

Is this a game Illinois can win? Yes it is. So were there last three losses. While the defense for the most part has done their job, the offense desperately needs to figure some things out. Whether it's a different game plan, less substitutions or whatever, hopefully the coaching staff has been able to solve the problems to the poor offensive play the last few weeks.
Michigan is coming off a loss to Iowa and you never know how they are going to respond. After losing a tough game with Michigan State, they were able to bounce back and easily handle Purdue (man, how bad does that Illinois loss in West Lafayette look the last couple of weeks...). Now it's a loss @ Iowa. Will they come in determined to get on track, or will they be like the Illini and turn one loss into a streak? We will have to wait and see. In the end, I think the Wolverines get it done. Illinois' offense and special teams have put a lot of pressure on the defense lately by quick 3 and outs and turnovers deep in their own territory. If the Illini can cut down the turnovers, especially the ones that pretty much mean an automatic score for the opponent, I think they can win this game and get back on track. In the end, I don't think the offense can do enough to keep up with Denard Robinson and company.
What do you guys think? Is it win #7 on the season for the Illini or will it be our 4th loss in a row? Let me know with your predictions below. Keep in mind Big Ten basketball tickets are still up for grabs at the end of the regular season so keep those predictions coming.
Talk to you guys after the game!
