URBANA — Medicare's open enrollment for prescription drug and health plans will come to an end Dec. 7.
This year, beneficiaries had seven weeks to make their choices, starting Oct. 15, which was an earlier start than last year.
And the deadline is coming sooner than last year, too.
Jana Perry, director of Medicare and Individual Services for Health Alliance Medical Plans, said many people may not be aware of that earlier deadline.
The Urbana company, which has HMO, PPO, Medicare Part D and Medicare supplement plans for Medicare beneficiaries, said it is offering free seminars on its plans for Medicare beneficiaries during the final enrollment days. They are scheduled as follows:
— 1 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 2) at Health Alliance at Lincoln Square Village, 301 S. Vine St., U.
— 2:30 p.m. Monday, Carle, 1818 E. Windsor Rd., U.
— 2 p.m. Tuesday, Carle, 1701 W. Curtis Rd., C.
— 6 p.m. Wednesday, Health Alliance at Lincoln Square Village.
