DANVILLE — Area high school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to a seminar to learn how they can finance their college education.
The event, called Financial Aid Night, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the library at Danville High School, 202 E. Main St.
It's being sponsored by the high school and the Illinois Student Assistant Commission.
High school guidance counselors and ISAC representatives will be on hand to show parents and students how to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, correctly, and help them complete the form that night.
Participants must bring:
— Their social security number
— Income records such as work or business income, child support paid or received and any other untaxed income. If available, they should refer to their W-2 forms and the federal income tax return IRS 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ.
— Information about assets such as savings, certificates of deposit, stock options, bonds, 529 plans and other college saving programs, investment real estate, business and farm.
— Their driver's license number (including the student's if they have one)
— Alien registration number, if they are not a U.S. citizen.
