DANVILLE — Families and individuals can apply for energy bill assistance at the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency [2]'s "power blitz" later this week.
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the David S. Palmer Arena, 100 W. Main St. Customers are asked to park in the city parking garage on Walnut Street across from the Danville Municipal Building.
Customers must meet financial eligibility requirements of having a household income of up to 150 percent of the federal poverty level [3]. They will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In order to serve people in a timely manner, customers are asked to have the following information available on the day of the blitz: proof of income for all household members for the past 30 days, a copy of their most recent energy bill, and Social Security cards or copies of them for all household members.
If funds are available after the blitz, applications will be taken by appointment at the community action agency administration building at 56 N. Vermilion St., Danville.
Applications will be taken until all funds are exhausted. Benefits will be paid to each household's utility provider.
For more information, call the community action agency at 443-2705.
