CHAMPAIGN — University of Illinois police arrested three men Thursday at a campus apartment for having drugs.
UI police Lt. Roy Acree said his officers had obtained a warrant to search the apartment at 304 E. Daniel St., C, and went there in the early evening.
Officers found just under an ounce of cannabis; 5.5 grams of psilocybin, a hallucinogenic mushroom; 4.4 grams of suspected powdered cocaine; a scale; and a cannabis pipe.
Acree said police also found a 5-foot-tall oxygen tank that the men said they used to store nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.
Charged Friday with possession with intent to deliver cannabis and possession of a controlled substance were Daniel Garcia, 22, and Enrique Teran, 21. Jaime Ricardo Baltazar, 29, was charged with possession with intent to deliver cannabis and manufacture or delivery of nitrous oxide.
All three men lived in the apartment, Acree said.
Judge Jeff Ford set their next court appearance for Feb. 10.
