The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for areas of freezing fog over parts of central, east central, and southeast Illinois for this morning. Although the coverage of the fog this morning was much less than what occurred yesterday morning, there were areas of dense fog and freezing fog being reported. A few locations are reporting visibilties of less than one-quarter of a mile. In areas that do have very low visibilities, a very light coating of ice will be left on roadways, bridges and ramps. Motorists should use extreme caution early this morning and be prepared for slick spots on roadways along with drastic changes in visibilities through the morning rush hour.
