Hallway before and after: white paint was the right choice

Because of Rob's work schedule, we probably won't make too much barn door [3] progress for the next few weeks. Until then, I'm finishing up painting and thinking about other decor ideas to make me feel like I'm still on top of this project.

Here's the hallway before:

And here's the after. I used semigloss paint, which gives it a nice shine but isn't too shiny. I was a little worried that the white wouldn't fit with the rest of our wall colors, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how it fits right in. The color is Dutch Boy's Ultra White.

The doorway on the far left is to the bathroom, so the barn door will be going on the stretch of wall that used to hold the shelves. I know the barn door will take up some space, but right now the hallway feels huge. It's great.
