URBANA — Traffic will be reduced for periodic lane closures on a portion of University Avenue in Urbana beginning on Wednesday.
Periodic lane closures are planned on University Avenue between Cunningham Avenue and Lincoln Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday while fiber optic conduit and hand holes are installed.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on University Avenue throughout the project.
The lane closures are expected to be completed by 5 p.m. March 9, weather permitting.
Urbana Public Works Operations Manager John Collins said the work is part of the Big Broadband project to deliver broadband access to homes, businesses and community buildings.
