Ameren Illinois reports all customers in Champaign County now have their power restored, after a 45 minute outage earlier Wednesday afternoon.
The number of those without power was as high as 5,400 at one point, according to Ameren's website.
Most of those effected by the outage were in the Savoy and Tolono areas.
Ameren spokesman Leigh Morris said a static line broke and fell on some energized wires, causing the outage. That problem has since been isolated and fixed.
Morris said it's not clear whether the high winds caused the static line to fall.
