Tuscola 12, Villa Grove 2. Amber Miller belted a grand slam and Carmen Commerford combined with Erin Walker to hold Villa Grove to three hits, leading the Warriors to a road win. Sam Kohlbecker went 2 for 2 with three RBI for Tuscola. Kilee Hoffman drove in both of the Blue Devils' runs.
GCMS 4, Donovan 3. The Falcons rallied for two runs in the sixth inning to edge visiting Donovan. Regan Romshek, who pitched a six-hitter, earned the win.
Unity 10 St. Thomas More 0. Freshman McKenzie Krutsinger pitched a two-hit shutout and drove in two runs to lead the Rockets to a home victory. Also contributing two RBI for Unity were Lacy Pruitt, Christy Lannon and Rachel Billman.
Salt Fork 12, Watseka 1. Hunter Marsh held Watseka to three hits and was backed by Emilie McFadden's home run and two RBI, leading the Storm to a road win. Hayley Gray doubled for the Warriors.
St. Thomas More 6, Urbana 0. Austin Tabeling and Luc Bequette combined on a three-hitter to lift the Sabers to a road win. Mike Rubenacker of STM and Conner Gremer of Urbana each had two hits.
St. Joseph-Ogden 12, Villa Grove 0. Bryce Stewart drove in three runs and Stephen Dunn combined with Tyler McCormick on a two-hit shutout for the host Spartans. Dunn struck out six in four innings.
Watseka 12, Milford 2. Jake Lyznicki went 3 for 4 and held Milford to three hits in five innings, leading the host Warriors to a season-opening victory. Robin Hasselbring drove in three runs for Watseka, while teammate Shane Snyder went 2 for 2 with two RBI. Ryley Ward had both of Milford's hits and stole two bases.
GCMS 7, Donovan 5. Chris Witteman went 2 for 3 and scored twice for the Falcons in a home win.
Fisher 4, CPCI 3. Hayden Fiedler singled in the tie-breaking run in the top of the eighth inning to lift Fisher to a season-opening win. The Bunnies rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the seventh when Grant Pointer drove in a run and later scored to send the game into extra innings. Kyle Williams, who went 2 for 4, earned the win in relief.
