In 1912, it was authoritatively stated at a late hour this afternoon that the new west side Catholic church will be located at the southeast corner of West Clark and Elm streets. That excellent property is now occupied by a dwelling house. It was purchased today. The church had a number of sites in view in that immediate neighborhood and after careful consideration arrived at the conclusion that it is the most suitable.
In 1962, Iroquois County has moved ahead of Champaign County as the top soybean-producing county in Illinois. Farmers in Iroquois produced 5.4 million bushels last year, compared with 5.3 million in Champaign. The next three were McLean, Sangamon and Livingston counties. Champaign County was No. 4 in corn production.
