Centennial 12, Apollo Ridge (Pa.) 1. Finishing off a 4-0 Florida trip, the Chargers got four hits and four RBI from LUCAS STEFAN and a solid pitching effort from DREY GODDARD (seven strikeouts in six innings) in Port St. Lucie.
JONATHON SHERRICK and CULLY WILSON each added two hits and an RBI for Centennial (6-0).
Danville 7, Peoria Notre Dame 1. Winning pitcher CHASE THURSTON allowed five hits and went 2 for 3 with two RBI to lead the visiting Vikings to their third straight win.
CASH KISER broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning with an RBI double for Danville, which got a three-run triple from CHUCKIE ROBINSON.
Central A&M 12, Arthur-Lovington 5. ZACH RILEY (three runs) went 3 for 3 and EVAN SEEGMILLER (RBI) went 2 for 2 for the host Knights.
Monticello 6, Cerro Gordo 2. The host Sages moved to 3-1, thanks to three hits and three RBI from JACOB WILLIAMS. ALEX FORAN and winning pitcher NICK STOKOWSKI had two hits apiece.
The Broncos got two hits each from KALEB KRIGBAUM and COLE BLICKENSDERFER.
South Piatt 9, St. Teresa 5. CONNOR GROSS (three hits, two RBI) and ETHAN MORTON (two hits, RBI) led the way for South Piatt.
LeRoy 6, Meridian 4. The host Panthers picked up a win and got a two-run homer from MATT HAMILTON.
In track and field
At Bloomington. Monticello’s STEVE SCHROEDER (3,200 meters), Salt Fork’s KALEB WEAVER (triple jump) and Villa Grove’s RYAN PEARCE (shot put) were all individual winners at the Illinois Top Times boys’ meet. St. Joseph-Ogden’s 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams were also victorious.
On the girls’ side, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley’s ANGEL GAESSER (800) and SYDNI MEUNIER (1,600) were winners, as were St. Joseph-Ogden teammates CHELSEA BLAASE (3,200) and RACHEL BALLARD (long jump).
