Different projects involving road and street resurfacing are slated to begin Monday.
A portion of Church Street in Urbana from just east of Lincoln Avenue to Busey Avenue will be closed for concrete pavement patching until May 11, depending on weather.
No parking will be allowed along the edge of the street on work days. The city will post signs to notify the public of the dates and times when parking will be prohibited.
In northwestern Champaign County, almost six miles of Illinois 47 will be resurfaced.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Illinois 47 will be patched, milled, and resurfaced from just north of U.S. 136 to the Champaign/Ford County line northwest of Fisher.
In addition, drainage repair and guardrail improvements are planned. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained.
The overall project should be complete by the end of October, weather permitting. The contractor for the $1,650,407 project is Cross Construction Inc.
