URBANA — Two free six-session workshops are available to help people with type 2 diabetes take better control of their disease.
The first will run from April 25 to May 30 at Christie Clinic, with sessions held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. each Wednesday.
The second will run from May 6 to June 10 with sessions held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. each Sunday at the Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center, 106 S. Lincoln Ave., U.
The sessions will include practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, information about nutrition and exercise choices, understanding treatment options and talking to your doctor and family about health concerns.
The workshops are funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health Diabetes Prevention and Control Program and are being offered through the Provena Center for Healthy Aging, the Champaign-Urbana public health District and the Community Diabetes Coalition of Champaign County.
