MONTICELLO — Spots are still available for kids to attend a three-day, two-night 4-H Mini-Camp session at 4-H Memorial Camp near Monticello.
The camp is scheduled for July 1-3, and is tailored for youths ages 8 through 12.
Summer youth camp is open to all kids and follows the 4-H mission to foster positive youth development through a "learn-by-doing philosophy." It's operated by the University of Illinois Extension. Activities offered include swimming, boating, hiking, arts and crafts, fishing, singing, volleyball, archery and rock climbing.
According to a UI Extension news release, the 4-H Memorial Camp is accredited through the American Camping Association and exceeds that organization's requirements for administration, personnel, program, health care and aquatics of a residential camp.
The cost of the Mini-Camp program is $120.
