The 23rd annual Siberian Express Trail Run was held Jan. 6, 2007. The race covers 7.45 miles of trails in Kickapoo State Park near Danville. The race is sponsored by the Kennekuk Road Runners.

Fans in Monticello got a full day of boys' and girls' basketball, watching as many as eight games on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006. The tournament culiminated with the boys' title game, with Ridgeview besting host Monticello 45-44.

High school basketball returned to the University of Illinois Assemby Hall on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 for the first-ever Shootout at the Hall. The six games drew fans of all ages.

Tuscola fans got to watch their team post a 35-20 victory over Aledo in the Class 1A IHSA state title game.
