The Champaign County Fair runs from July 21-29 at the County Fairgrounds in Urbana. Throughout the week, The News-Gazette will add photos from the Fair to this photo gallery.

On July 23, Crystal Lake Pool held a Lifeguard Appreciation Party at the pool for all of its employees. The party featured food and a slip-and-slide for the lifeguards in addition to the pool. The public was also able to attend the event and the slip-and-slide was open for all in attendence.

The Champaign Park District's Skatefest '06 was held on July 22, 2006 at Spaulding Skatepark in Champaign. The event, designed for skateboarders, featured several contests and skills challenges as well as a handful of tricks competitions. The event was very successful with at least 400 people in attendence.

This summer, the Urbana Park District will host several live concerts at different neighborhoods in town. On July 19, the concert was held at Victory Park in eastern Urbana. Despite winds and rain in the forecast, the event was still a success with a substantial turnout.
