Effective immediately, the Home Builders Association of East Central Illinois (HBA/ECI) has set in place extensive required standards for its Builder/Remodeler members. These standards are contained in a book, the "Builder Standards Manual" and were written specifically for Illinois consumers by representatives of the residential building/remodeling industry.

Most important, the Standards were written so that you and your contractor can easily communicate about every aspect of your construction project. And the Manual quantifies what is acceptable and what is not, during the project and after it is completed, and it makes clear who is responsible for taking action, if needed.

Ask your Builder or Remodeler if he or she is a member of HBA/ECI. Only a member of the Association will be able to provide you with the HBA/ECI Quality Assurance Builder Standards Manual.
