COTTAGE AT SANDHILL
Presented by Sunbuilt Homes
Covered porches and rocking chairs, cedar shingles and
stately columns, warm summer evenings and the sound of children playing,
all blend together to conjure up memories of the days we all long for.
Our entry in the 2002 Showcase of Homes, Cottage at Sandhill, is uniquely
designed to fulfill those dreams of times gone by. Comfortably nestled
on a large corner lot, this 2900 square foot ranch home offers a diverse
and open floor plan, able to meet the needs and demands of a growing
family, or that of the empty nester looking for single level living,
yet the space and eloquence to continue the life style they are accustomed
to.
Your first impression of our cottage as you come upon
it, is its large and inviting front porch, beckoning you to take a sit
and just watch the world go by. As you enter the home you are immediately
welcomed by the warmth of the wide plank white oak flooring, flowing
throughout the first floor. A large abundance of windows help to flood
the core of the house with natural light. The dining room, great room,
kitchen and breakfast area all combine together to form a large gathering
space for family, friends and easy entertaining.
The kitchen is a chef's dream, a gracious space with custom
cherry cabinets and Corian countertops. The large 'L' shaped island
offers a six burner stainless steel cooktop with sink close at hand,
and still has ample space for casual dining. The island overlooks the
great room with 16 foot vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, with a cozy
stone fireplace as its anchor.
At one end of the home are two nicely-sized bedrooms with
a shared bathroom in between. Adjacent is a study with yet another full
bath for guests. At the opposite end of the home is a private and secluded
master suite. His-and-hers walk-in closets lead to a master bath of
grand stature yet simple elegance. At the rear of the home you will
find yet another covered porch, providing ideal space for that all important
grill, for private dining and casual entertaining.
Completing the home is 1880 square feet of basement with
nine-foot walls, of whcih 990 square feet is finished space, providing
a game room, media are and a generous day lit bedroom with a full bath.
This leaves 890 square feet of unfinished space for lots of storage
and future expansion. Windows by Pella, central vacuum, security and
built-in audio systems, along with the confort of high wind construction
technology, are just a few of the additional features offered in this
home.
