Democrats created government problems

The severe economic problems facing our nation, including the current credit crisis, have one common thread: massive intervention and incompetence by an ever more powerful federal government.
The housing and credit debacle began with the government's Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bureaucracies backing irresponsible home loans, and coercing banks to do the same.
High energy costs are caused by government preventing our nation from exploiting its oil reserves or building nuclear power plants. Thus after three decades of an Energy Department created to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we are twice as dependent today and far more vulnerable to backbreaking prices.
Health care costs rise in a system increasingly dominated by massive and often contradictory government rules and mandates. Government's crowning health care achievements, Medicare and Medicaid, are financial disasters in the making.
Social Security is a "ticking time bomb" even though the government "solved" the crisis "once and for all" in each of the last three decades, usually through higher taxes, reduced benefits, and/or increasing the retirement age.
All of these government interventions and the pending financial calamities they threaten are primarily the products of Democrats. Incredibly, their response and the response of Barrack Obama, to these financial disasters is greater expansions of government intervention and control.
Rather than being the party of change, on the issues that matter most to our well-being, Democrats are the party of "more of the same." People support Obama and the Democrats at our collective economic peril.
