Former Illini Kustok found guilty
BRIDGEVIEW — A former University of Illinois football player, Allan Kustok, was found guilty today in the 2010 shooting death of his wife Jeanie Kustok.
A jury of six men and six women deliberated less than two hours before delivering the verdict at a courthouse in suburban Cook County.
Kustok was a two-year starter at offensive guard for Bob Blackman’s Illini in 1972 and 1973. He was recruited to Illinois by Jim Valek.
Allan Kustok is the father of Sarah Kustok, a former Chicago broadcaster who now works in New York, and Zak Kustok, who played quarterback at Northwestern.
Allan Kustok has told investigators that on the morning of Sept. 29, 2010, he awoke to the sound of a gunshot and saw his wife dead beside him in bed, bleeding from a gunshot in the face,
