Three Illini programs set pace for repeat NCAA appearances

Illinois softball is vying for its third straight NCAA tournament appearance, a feat the program has never accomplished. What other Illini programs currently have sent full teams to at least three consecutive appearances in the final stage of their respective season-ending NCAA events? Here you go:

Men's golf

Mike Small's program has become a constant every May in the last decade. The Illini, who open NCAA Regional play Monday, have qualified for the NCAA championships every year since 2008.

Men's gymnastics

The Illini own 10 national titles in program history and last month's third-place finish at the NCAA Championships marked the 18th straight time Illinois has competed at the season-ending meet.

Men's tennis

When Brad Dancer's team hosts Marquette on Saturday afternoon, the Illini will begin action in their 23rd consecutive NCAA tournament. Included in that run is a national title in 2003.
