Illini Basketball Report Card: at Wisconsin, Feb. 18, 2019

Player of the game | Wisconsin guard Brad Davison

Not an overwhelming factor in the Badgers' 12-point win in Champaign last month, the Wisconsin sophomore did a little bit of everything Monday night at the Kohl Center — including some late scoring that pushed the Badgers ahead. Davison finished Wisconsin's second win against the Illini with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Between Davison and certified Illini killer Khalil Iverson (16 points, nine rebounds), the Badgers got plenty of production from its guards. And while Ayo Dosunmu led the Illini with 13 points, he was just 4 of 15 from the field.

Here's how much the Illini frustrated Ethan Happ — again. Badgers' coach Greg Gard couldn't even play him as Wisconsin closed out its win. Happ had six points, three rebounds and three turnovers, while Giorgi Bezhanishvili had 10 points and four rebounds for the Illini

Not much to speak of from either teams' reserves. Most of the Illini's scoring off the bench came from one likely place (Andres Feliz with four points) and one perhaps becoming more likely source (Alan Griffin with five points).

As much progress as the Illini have made the last month, the Badgers still have their number. A game that gets ugly offensively early? Wisconsin thrives on that. While the Illini have shown an ability to close of late, they couldn't do it against the Badgers with missed shots and turnovers late.
