Landing on his feet

Former Illini Roger Powell Jr. was left looking for a new job for the first time in several years when Bryce Drew was fired at Vanderbilt. Powell certainly landed on his feet, though, as Mark Few's newest assistant coach at Gonzaga.

California dreaming

John Groce's loss is Andy Enfield's gain. Now ex-Akron forward Daniel Utomi committed to Enfield and Southern Cal as a graduate transfer Wednesday. He joins two other grad transfers and the No. 4 2019 recruiting class in USC's roster reload.

In the clear ... For now

All is well for LSU coach Will Wade. For the moment, at least. Reinstated after his suspension for the alleged "strong ... offer" he made to land a current player, Wade still has to testify in the basketball corruption trial this month.
