The Illinois baseball team will play three games at the Metrodome in Minneapolis and also face Missouri at Busch Stadium as part of its 2011 schedule, announced Monday.
The Illini will face three 2010 NCAA tournament teams -- Minnesota (host of the Metrodome Tournament in March), Illinois State and St. Louis. The Illini open the season on Feb. 18, facing Pittsburgh in the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. They also take on Cincinnati (Feb. 19) and West Virginia (Feb. 20) in Clearwater, Fla.
Illinois plays a three-game series at Florida Gulf Coast on Feb. 25-27. On March 11, the Illini will take on Gonzaga in the opener of the Metrodome Tournament, before facing Butler on March 12 and Minnesota on March 13.
The Illini's game against Missouri at Busch Stadium is slated for March 29, the second straight year the rivals have squared off at the home of the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Illini home the home season March 25, the start of a three-game series against Indiana State. The open the Big Ten slate April 1 at Penn State.
