Duchene adds to Freshman All-America honors

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Illinois left-hander Kevin Duchene was named Monday to his second Freshman All-America team.

The Big Ten Freshman of the Year earned second-team honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Duchene, who won an Illini freshman-record nine games, previously was selected to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team.

Duchene was one of two Big Ten freshmen honored by the NCBWA along with first-teamer Jacob Cronenworth of Michigan. Cronenworth was chosen as a utility player.
