Are you ready for some baseball?

WDWS 1400-AM sure is. The Champaign radio station — part of News-Gazette Media — will again carry Illinois baseball games this season. Dan Hartleb's team opens Feb. 15 against Georgetown in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The team also has early trips to Boca Raton, Fla.; Conway, S.C.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Phoenix.

Today is our last day on the island of Aruba. It seems crazy that the trip is about to be over but it has been an amazing time. Today we had a beach day. A lot of guys played sand volleyball and some relaxed. The weather has been exactly the same every day — 80-85 and sunny so the beach is the place to be. It's about a two minute walk from our hotel.

Happy Thanksgiving from Aruba. We had a nice chill Thanksgiving Day, which was nice because we have had a packed schedule up to this point. We got to sleep in for the first time then hang by the pool for a while before going out to the beach. The beach was great with clean sand and cool water. After the beach I went and bought an Aruba ornament for my mom ...

Hype building toward future

CHAMPAIGN — The 2019 Illinois baseball recruiting class is the last one for coach Dan Hartleb that came without the benefit of the Susan and Clint Atkins Baseball Training Center. The eight players Illinois signed Wednesday, plus three more Hartleb said he couldn't yet talk about, all picked the Illini without knowing a major facility upgrade was on the way.
