H-F''s Gregory picks Georgia Tech

Homewood-Flossmoor running back Sean Gregory, who visited the University of Illinois last weekend, will sign with Georgia Tech on Wednesday.

"When there''s two great opportunities, you have to make a choice," H-F coach Tom Bailey said.

Bailey said Illinois is being hurt some this recruiting season by its late start. New coach Ron Turner couldn''t recruit until after the Chicago Bears completed their season.

Three other players who visited Illinois last weekend picked other schools. Providence linebacker Matt Uremovich will attend Georgia Tech. Adrian Cole, an offensive lineman from Houston, picked Missouri. Keydrick Vincent, an offensive lineman from Florida, will attend Mississippi.

The Illini, who have 16 commitments, still are pursuing linebacker Keith Washington from Shreveport, La., and Slidell-Salmen (La.) teammates Dawayne Woods and Ernie Moore.
