It was tough for Nathan Scheelhaase to sit and watch his team get handled at Arizona State in Week 2. Illinois’ injured quarterback had an easier go of it Saturday while watching his team take care of business against Charleston Southern on Saturday.
“We win 44-0, that’s what matters,” Scheelhaase said on Tuesday. “Obviously I want to help any way I can. Last week and the week before I wasn’t on the field so I helped out in different ways. You deal with it, injuries are a part of the game and you just do what you can to get back.”
Scheelhaase continues to rehab the left ankle he injured in the season opener against Western Michigan and says he’s further along this week than we was at the same time a week ago. He’s confident he can return for Saturday’s game against Louisiana Tech.
