Ex-Illini in the NFL update: Vontae Davis delivers

JEFF CUMBERLAND, Jets. Starting tight end had one grab for 37 yards in win at Jacksonville.
VONTAE DAVIS, Colts. Starting corner made eight tackles — one of which was a sack — and knocked away a pass in home victory against Titans.
DAVE DIEHL, Giants. Starting offensive lineman helped lead the way for a 100-yard rusher and kept QB Eli Manning clean (no sacks) in home win against Saints.
KELVIN HAYDEN, Bears. Starting cornerback made four tackles in loss at Minnesota.
MICHAEL HOOMANAWANUI, Patriots. Tight end plays tonight against visiting 11-1 Texans.

COREY LIUGET, Chargers. Starting defensive end made one tackle — a sack — and batted down two passes in victory at Pittsburgh.
BRANDON LLOYD, Patriots. Receiver and his teammates host Texans tonight.
RASHARD MENDENHALL, Steelers. Tailback was inactive (knee) for second week in a row.

BRANDON MOORE, Jets. Starting right guard had good day — two backs with 75-plus yards, only one sack allowed — in win at Jacksonville.
PIERRE THOMAS, Saints. Backup tailback led the team in receiving with seven catches for 57 yards and ran for 19 more yards in road loss to Giants.
STEVE WEATHERFORD, Giants. Punter booted it three times — all three pinning the visiting Saints inside the 20 — for a 38.7-yard average in victory.
