CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Illinois assistant Keith Gilmore will be North Carolina’s new defensive line coach, sources close to the UI program confirmed Saturday.
Gilmore will replace Deke Adams and reunite with former UI defensive coordinator Vic Koenning, the Tar Heels’ associate head coach for defense.
Fire Timmy Banks the worst defensive coordinator that I have ever seen! Kieth is leaving for obvious reasons. Tim looks and coaches like he is the hired help from the homeless shelter. He probably is! Where else did a coach this bad come from? Because Tim Beckman is allowing this guy to stay around tells me much more about Tim Beckman that is he is not interested in winning at all so ok Timmy go ahead and lose another 10 games in a row, you will not be here next year!
The last person that is left from Illini's good defense the last several years, minus 2012, made the correct call in leaving Illinois. He gave Beckman a chance by staying, and Beckman failed. Thanks to Gilmore for developing a great defensive line and linemen over the years; sad to see him go but do not blame him. Why go down with a sinking ship!
