Beckman rounds out coaching staff

The Illinois football staff is back to capacity after Tuesday’s hiring of Al Seamonson as outside linebackers coach.

Illinois coach Tim Beckman did some shuffling on his defensive staff, with coordinator Tim Banks taking over the secondary and Mike Ward coaching inside linebackers. Greg Colby will be in charge of the line.

Seamonson joins the Illinois staff after working at Central Florida in 2011. He was on the Maryland staff from 2001 to ’10, coaching linebackers and special teams. Other stops include Bowling Green, Army and The Citadel.

A former Wisconsin receiver, Seamonson began his coaching career as a graduate assistant with the Badgers in the early 1980s.
