Monday updates (w/videos)

Beat writer Matt Daniels was a Tweetin' fool during Monday's news conference at Memorial Stadium. A sampling:

Beckman: Team will also be out on sidelines for national anthem, which they weren't last year

Beckman: Every player will touch Red Grange Rock near north end zone before running out onto field

Beckman: You want to see how far this team has become. That's all going to be shown with what we do out on Saturday

Beckman: Mike Bellamy will also be on sidelines as well with the wide receivers

Beckman: Defensive coordinator Tim Banks will be on sidelines as well

Beckman: Bill Cubit will be on sidelines for first game calling plays

Beckman: Wes Lunt able to be with recruits on Saturday, not on sidelines

Beckman: "Because we're such a young football team, there's young football players that have had to step up into that leadership category."

Beckman long proponent of having chance to work with players in summer, a la basketball

Beckman: It's awfully hard to play on offensive line as a freshman yet said he might use Austin Schmidt, Christian DiLauro

On offensive line, projected starters are Cvijanovic at LT, Heitz at LG, Hill at C, Karras at RG and Lewis at RT. Same as before

Touching Red Grange Rock won't turn Little Nathan into a real QB. Lots of luck.

Hey Cowpie, ya know when I picture you in my mind I see a guy about 5' 6" , 275 lbs, with thick glasses that wouldn't know a football from a dirty diaper. You probably never played sports in your life since it took time away from your Barbie collection . But, all in all you're probably a pretty good egg , but we all know where eggs come from.

Moonpie...usually I laugh at your comments but "little nathan" is a grown man and a 5th year senior at Illinois.  I think he was pretty darn effective for alot of games at Illinois. So Little Moonpie..become an Alabama fan!!!!!! I promise you will have less to complain about.

I seem to remember NS schooling RG3 in the Texas Bowl. Doesn't anyone else? With a new system that NS may very well return!!!
