A look at how former Illini fared during Week 5 of the NFL season:

Jeff Allen and Jon Asamoah, Chiefs: Starting offensive linemen protected QB Alex Smith and also paved the way to 120 rushing yards to stay unbeaten.

Alan Ball, Jaguars: Starting cornerback returned from groin injury to make four tackles, but Jacksonville remained winless on the season.

Michael Buchanan, Patriots: Defensive lineman made a tackle on special teams in road loss.

Jack Cornell, Raiders: Offensive lineman was not active but was placed on the team’s 53-man roster on Saturday after signing a new contract.

Jeff Cumberland, Jets: Catch tight end tonight against Atlanta.

Vontae Davis, Colts: Starting cornerback had three tackles and knocked away a pass in home victory.

David Diehl, Giants: Offensive lineman’s return from a thumb injury couldn’t get team its first win.

Glenn Foster, Saints: Defensive lineman saw action but was hurt in road victory.

Kelvin Hayden, Bears: Cornerback is on injured reserve (hamstring).

Michael Hoomanawanui, Patriots: Starting tight end had one catch for 2 yards in team’s first loss.

A.J. Jenkins, Chiefs: Wide receiver had a ball thrown his way but had no catches in victory.

Mikel Leshoure, Lions: Running back was inactive again (fourth time in five games).

Corey Liuget, Chargers: Starting defensive end played in Sunday night’s late game.

Rashard Mendenhall, Cardinals: Starting running back ran for 43 yards, including a 1-yard TD plunge, and caught two passes in home victory.

Whitney Mercilus, Texans: Linebacker had three tackles — including a sack — in road loss.

Tony Pashos, Raiders: Offensive lineman played in Sunday night’s late game.

Graham Pocic, Rams: Offensive lineman is on injured reserve (shoulder).

Akeem Spence, Buccaneers: Defensive tackle had the week off.

Pierre Thomas, Saints: Starting running back had a big game, catching a pair of TD passes among his 91 all-purpose yards (36 rushing, 55 receiving) in road victory.

Hugh Thornton, Colts: Rookie started at left guard, making a tackle after an Andrew Luck fumble and helping the Colts run for more than 100 yards in home win.

Steve Weatherford, Giants: Punted it seven times for a 48.3-yard average with a long of 58 yards in loss.

Martez Wilson, Saints: Linebacker had one tackle in victory at Soldier Field.

Tavon Wilson, Patriots: Defensive back (hamstring) was held out of Sunday’s loss.
