Three Illini sign as free agents

Former Illinois football players Jonathan Brown, Ryan Lankford and Evan Wilson have all signed NFL free agent contracts with three separate teams.

Brown, Lankford and Wilson weren't among the 256 players selected during the three-day NFL draft, which ended on Saturday, but they should all get a chance to crack a team's roster.

Illinois didn't have a player drafted for the first time since 2006, and only the second time since 1973 that has happened.

Congrats Ilini! Remember that surefire HOF undrafted QB Kurt Warner. You may be undrafted, but you may still be one of the best to ever play the game.

Looking forward to reading that Steve Hull gets a UFA contract.  Bears, Bengals???

Miles, Spencer and Corey too.

Cheers!
