UI football sets time for homecoming game

A third game time has been set for the 2014 Illinois football schedule.

And first of the seven home games the Illini will play at Memorial Stadium this fall.

Illinois and Minnesota will kick off at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25, which is the 104th homecoming game for the Illini.

Illinois is 44-57-2 all-time on homecoming, with its last win coming Oct. 1, 2011 against Northwestern.

Illinois has played Minnesota 16 times on homecoming and sports an 8-7-1 record in such games against the Golden Gophers.

Illinois has lost three straight homecoming games against Minnesota, with the last win coming during a 24-3 triumph in 1991.

The TV network that will carry the game has not been determined yet.

The other two game times for Illinois this season so far are an 8 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 27 at Nebraska (BTN), along with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Nov. 1 at Ohio State (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2).
