Asmussen's Top 50: No. 45 Boise State

Asmussen's Top 50: No. 45 Boise State

Bob Asmussen counts down his top 50 college football teams this upcoming season.

No. 45: Boise State

Coach: Bryan Harsin

2013 record: 8-5

Projected 2014 record: 10-2

Circle the date: Nov. 29 vs. Utah State

Why No. 45: The Broncos had a very un-Boise-like 2013 season. Then, Chris Petersen left to take over at Washington. In steps Harsin, a former offensive coordinator at the school. Born and raised in Boise and a former Broncos quarterback, Harsin has only been a head coach one year, leading Arkansas State to a bowl last season. He welcomes back one of the top returning runners in the country, Jay Ajayi, who scooted for 1,425 yards and 18 touchdowns. Grant Hedrick is the latest in the long line of talented Boise State quarterbacks. The Broncos will rise or fall based on his success.
