The string of offensive lineman commits continues to pour in for Illinois coach Tim Beckman.
Zach Heath from American River College out of Sacramento, Calif., gave the Illini an oral commitment late Tuesday night, becoming the fourth offensive lineman to pledge to the Illini in the Class of 2015 and ninth commit overall.
He joins prep products Gabe Megginson from Jacksonville, Adam Solomon from Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Zeke Martin from Medina (Ohio).
Heath, recruited by Illinois offensive line coach A.J. Ricker and Illinois recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh, signed with Western Kentucky last Decemeber.
At 6 feet, 4 inches and 285 pounds, Heath could fill in at any spot along the offensive line, but will most likely play either center or guard at Illinois.
Heath, who went to Del Oro High School in Loomis, Calif., is the second American River player to choose Illinois since Beckman's tenure started.
Safety Zane Petty signed with Illinois' Class of 2013 out of American River.
It's the same college the same junior college quarterback Tony Eason came out of in the early 1980s before starring for two seasons at Illinois.
