Romagnoli repeats feat

After posting a top score nationally last weekend, Illinois' Travis Romagnoli on Wednesday was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week.

Romagnoli, who also won the award last week, had a 9.9 on the high bar, the best score this season nationwide. He also won the vault and parallel bars en route to the all-around title in Sunday's victory against Illinois State.

Romagnoli, who holds the No. 1 spot nationally in the all-around, also moved to the top in the high bar and the parallel bars.

Other ranked Illini: Greg Cook, fifth in the parallel bars; Linh Hoang, 12th on the vault; and Tuscola native Kurt Hettinger, 14th on the parallel bars. Leo Oka is ranked in the floor exercise, the high bar and the all-around.

The Illini next compete at 7 p.m. Saturday at Penn State.
