Illinois headed to NCAA Regional

CHAMPAIGN – Illinois will compete in the NCAA Regional in Lincoln, Neb., at 6 p.m. April 9, the NCAA announced Monday.

Illinois, ranked 33rd nationally, will join No. 4 Nebraska, No. 7 Michigan, No. 19 Arizona, No. 24 Missouri and No. 25 Arizona State. The top two teams advance to the NCAA Championships on April 21-23 in Auburn, Ala.

Illinois placed fifth in last year''s regional.
