Ex-Illini gymnast helps U.S. win Pan-Am

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — Former Illini All-American Wes Haagensen tied for fourth place in the all-around, helping the U.S. Men’s National Team win the gold medal at the Pan American Championships on Thursday.
The Americans scored 352.150 points to top Brazil and Canada, which tied for second at 343.950.
Haagensen qualified for two individual event finals by placing second in high bar (15.100) and fourth in still rings (15.200). The individual finals begin a two-day run Saturday.
