Illinois junior Tyler Mizoguchi, who won the all-around and two event titles Saturday in a dual meet against Penn State, was named Big Ten Men’s Co-Gymnast of the Week on Monday.

The Houston native, who scored 87.200 points in the all-around, finished first in parallel bars (14.700) and tied for first in high bar (14.300). The all-around title was Mizoguchi’s third of the season.

He shared the award with sophomore Parker Raque, who led No. 3 Penn State to a 352.100-351.000 victory against No. 2 Illinois at Huff Hall.

Meanwhile, Amber See became the first Illini female gymnast to receive a Big Ten Freshman of the Week award. The Minnetonka, Minn. native was selected Monday to share the honor, which has been presented since the start of the 2010 season, with Ohio State’s Sarah Miller.

See won vault (9.875) and finished second in floor exercise (9.900) in Illinois’ 195.975-192.150 victory against Illinois-Chicago on Saturday at Huff Hall. Both scores were career bests for See, who earned a vault title for the second time this season.
