CHAMPAIGN — The NBA draft process is heating up for Meyers Leonard.
The former Illini center is one of 60 players invited to attend the NBA combine June 7-8 in Chicago. The combine includes workouts, measurements and interviews with NBA personnel.
Five players from the Big Ten are on the combine list. In addition to Leonard, William Buford, Draymond Green, Robbie Hummel and Jared Sullinger also earned invitations.
Leonard is training in New York. The 7-foot-1 center from Robinson is projected to become the first Illini since 2005 to be chosen in the first round of the draft.
The draft is June 28 in New York City.
