For Demetrius Jackson, it's... Thursday

CHAMPAIGN — For better or worse, Illinois coach John Groce will learn Thursday if his point guard of the future is Demetrius Jackson.

Jackson will announce his college decision Thursday, he wrote today in a text message. The 6-foot-1 star from Mishawaka (Ind.) Marian is expected to choose between Illinois and Notre Dame.

"I'm glad to have an opportunity like this," Jackson said.

Jackson is scheduled to make the announcement on ESPNU's Recruiting Nation (4-5 p.m. Central). He took official visits to both finalists — at Illinois from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 and at Notre Dame last weekend.

Illini nation, don't get to excited. More than likely another Indiana baller staying in his home state, unlike Illinois ballers. Here's hoping, but not expecting. Keep after the big fish coach, you will get more as you go. Great job so far. Unlike football.
