Seeds for thought: Michigan down a spot

Seeds for thought: Michigan down a spot

Selection Sunday is a little more than a month away. Here's what beat writer Marcus Jackson is thinking:

EAST
1. Duke (Atlantic Coast)
2. Michigan (Big Ten)
— OT loss at Wisconsin and debacle at Michigan State knocked Wolverines off No. 1 seed line.
3. Syracuse (Big East)
4. Pittsburgh (Big East)

MIDWEST
1. Indiana (Big Ten)
2. Michigan State (Big Ten)
3. Kansas (Big 12)
4. Georgetown (Big East)
— Hoyas aren’t always fun to watch. But their only blemish is a three-point loss at South Florida.

SOUTH
1. Miami, Fla. (Atlantic Coast)
— Eight wins against the RPI Top 50 for conference-leading Hurricanes offset loss to Florida Gulf Coast.
2. Florida (SEC)
3. Louisville (Big East)
4. Ohio State (Big Ten)

WEST
1. Gonzaga (West Coast)
2. Arizona (Pac-12)
3. New Mexico (Mountain West)
— Steve Alford’s Lobos are navigating through the loaded MWC. Plus they’re 5-2 against the RPI Top 50.
4. Kansas State (Big 12)

Alford's Lobos have also lost to South Dakost State and Coach Nagy.
