Illinois senior Brandon Paul on Tuesday was named one of 30 finalists for the Naismith Award.
The guard is one of six Big Ten players on the list, joining Michigan's Trey Burke, Wisconsin's Jarred Berggren, Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas and Indiana's Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo.
The candidates will be trimmed to four in late March with the winner announced April 7.
At the start of the year....when we learned he was on the Wooden Award list....I said if he was a serious contender......we'd have a Great Season.
Seems to be a great young Man.........but..............................too inconsistant to be considered as a top player in college. The athleticism is in there.........but his hoops need more work.
I wish him nothing but success! I'd love to see him "figure it out" for the next few weeks and go on a major tear! He's capable!
