Big Ten/ACC Challenge: Best to worst

Big Ten/ACC Challenge: Best to worst

We asked college basketball beat writer Marcus Jackson to rank the matchups for the 15th Big Ten/ACC Challenge:

1. Michigan at Duke
Fresh off a run to the title game, the Wolverines return plenty to test mighty Duke at Cameron

2. North Carolina at Michigan State
Both bluebloods will likely be ranked in the Top 10

3. Indiana at Syracuse
Remember, it was Jim Boeheim’s squad that ended top-seeded Indiana’s season in March

4. Maryland at Ohio State
Remember Evan Smotrycz? The former Michigan forward will suit up against Aaron Craft and Co.

5. Notre Dame at Iowa
Mike Brey will have another Top 25 club. Hawkeyes are a trendy pick after reaching NIT title game

6. Wisconsin at Virginia
Both teams will be good, but based on reputations, this one might not get into the 50s

7. Penn State at Pittsburgh
Nice early test for the Nittany Lions, considered a tough out in the Big Ten

8. Florida State at Minnesota
Richard Pitino might have to gameplan for top freshman Andrew Wiggins, who is considering the ‘Noles

9. Illinois at Georgia Tech
Rematch of last season, though the Jackets return their entire core against a new-look Illini squad

10. Northwestern at N.C. State
‘Cats coach Chris Collins, a longtime Duke aide, should have an easy time composing a scouting report

11. Miami at Nebraska
This will be a much different Miami outfit than the one that beat Illinois in the NCAAs. Hey, the arena will be nice

12. Boston College at Purdue
If the Boilers, who return the Johnson brothers at A.J. Hammons, can win this one, it could provide a spa
