UI grade vs. Oregon: B-

Player of the game
Mike Moser, Oregon

UNLV transfer has had a wacky career but seems to be finding the right fit in Eugene. Ducks are getting more parts back, but Moser is the key. His nine rebounds were big.

Backcourt
Illinois B, Oregon B+

Another nice effort by Rayvonte Rice, who continues to draw praise from the endless ESPN announcers. And Tracy Abrams came back with another strong road effort.

Frontcourt
Illinois  B-, Oregon B

Jon Ekey approached another double-double and manages to chip in the little things. Nice to see Nnanna Egwu expanding his range with a rare three-pointer.

Bench
Illinois C, Oregon B

Too many fouls in a hurry from the Illini subs. Maverick Morgan needs to spend some of his Christmas money on presents for the officials. Oregon’s Elgin Cook hit 5 of 6 from the floor. Sweet.

Overall
Illinois  B-, Oregon A-

That makes two road games the Illini might look back on with regret come Selection Sunday. Saturday’s win would have been even bigger than Georgia Tech because the Ducks look like a top seed.

Tate, Nunn, and Maverick will be very good players. Tate and Nunn can just blow by people and yes, they did not finish but as time goes on they will.

NOW,,STOP with the Weber like big man picks that do nothing but pick up fouls. Put the big man on the weak sides and tell him to watch for a rebound.
