CHAMPAIGN — No surprise, but after a lopsided loss at Wisconsin and a 49-43 setback on the road to a Northwestern team that entered Sunday's game with a 7-9 record that the Illinois basketball team dropped out of the latest Associated Press Top 25 released Monday.

Ranked 23rd last week, the Illini (13-4, 2-2 Big Ten) spent one week in the Top 25 before being bounced.

The top 25 teams in The Associated Press’ college basketball poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, records through Jan. 12, total points based on 25 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 25th-place vote and last week’s ranking:
